As cliched as it sounds, my own experiences in birth and postpartum are what fueled my passion for supporting others in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys. I had 2 amazing births. I felt supported and informed from my childbirth class, my partner, and my midwifery care. But my postpartum experience after my second baby was hard. I felt isolated, like I was drowning and I didn’t know how to ask for help (or what help I even needed).
It showed me that even if you feel prepared and feel supported from your partner, you can still have a tough time, feel isolated, and need additional support. Since starting my journey as a doula in 2018, I have learned so much from continuing education, my mentors, and from my amazing clients, who all have so many varied experiences.
“She was amazing! Jennifer was essential in helping myself and my husband get through contractions so that I was able to get through without an epidural. I can’t say enough good words for Jennifer!”
